I know that Bob was a great Man, Father,Husband and Brother because of all the many times my dear friend Dolores spoke of him.

I met Bob for the first and only time in January 2007. I was in town visitng my family and as usual, spent time with my good friend, Dolores, Bob's sister.
Since our friendship dates back to the early seventies, Dolores and I have shared a lot about our lives and families. I felt as if I had already met Bob.

On that particularly cold and windy-city day, I spent a wonderful time in the "new downtown" Chicago with Dolores as my travel guide and "urban sophisticate." After a delicious dinner, we returned to her car to find that it was "having a problem," one that she thought had been recently corrected. Rather than risk the long ride to my parents' home in the North suburbs, she called her brother, Bob, who generously lent a car for the return trip.

Despite the late hour, I was warmly welcomed into the home of Bob, Julie, and Sarah. Julie was baking cookies, Sarah was playing, and Bob was watching CNN with interest, exuberance, and an occasional critical expletive. I immediately felt comfortable, especially as we talked and found commonality in our political and social perspectives. I am happy to have had the opportunity to meet Bob and his family. My husband, Jerry, joins me in sending condolences to the entire family. May you find peace in the love and memories that you share. Dolores, please know that our love and thoughts are with you now and always.
